Gonçalo Amaral's book is still available outside Portugal.

The current ban, as upheld by the Portuguese court in Lisbon, applies only to Portugal. You can read the book in English on this blog and you can also order it in French from FNAC online

  1. It makes you wonder why they bothered banning it then. The Portugese have already read it and the majority of them support Amaral I should think.

    What a set up.

  2. Not a single word in french press, radio or tv about this book being baned ; for the french, the case is "shelved". Also it was a rather good surprise to hear Martin Brunt on SkyNews. Very professional, saying that it could go on for years on court between Amaral and Mccanns...

Imo the trial shouldn't be about the book but about the parents, although I can't help feeling compassion for them...

  3. If the ban applies only to Portugal, why no one in UK translate and publish the book?

    Affraid of the McCann's?

BTW, the english translation in this blog it's not very accurate.

The original portuguese edition has 23 chapters, and the english translation only 22!

What happened to chapter 17 of the portuguese edition?

Chapters 17 to 22 are in the original edition 18 to 23.

Morever, there are several paragraphes that are jumped!

Probably this is a translation from another translation (French maybe).

  4. Anonymous, chapter 17, which is very short in the original, is incorporated into chapter 16.

If there are any inaccuracies that you can point out to me, please do so. I am always looking to improve this work.
