A huge thank you to all of you who have already contributed, and to those who will contribute to help Mr Amaral. I would like to explain that this is a bank account that is formally held by two friends of Mr Amaral, in representation of a group of friends who decided to help him because it was obvious, back in 2009 already, that this was going to be a long, expensive process and that without financial support, Gonçalo Amaral was not going to be able to defend himself. This account has been used solely to pay for court expenses and legal costs, and that is all that it will ever be used for. It is an informal gathering of friends, and it has only been possible to continue due to the incredible generosity of many more friends.
I would also like to thank everyone who is not able to make a donation, but has been showing their support online. The times are not easy for anyone and so often, a kind word means a LOT. Thank you.

Me too Alison. I wish I could make a big donation. I am British too and I admire Gonçalo. I don't know if in his present circumstances he still does this, but he was paying for an annual special mass for Joana Cipriano whose mother and uncle have been convicted of her murder. Gonçalo did this because he thought that there was no one else to do it. A truly kind and caring man.
I have just made a contribution and will continue to do so. I too am a Brit and pleased that more people are waking up to the lies that are being told. We are fed so much disinformation by the media. I am thoroughly disgusted by the way Mr Amaral has been treated. Looking at it another way of course he's a good man, they only malign and try to destroy good people. As long as I am alive I will contribute. Justice for Mr Amaral. Why should he suffer because Maddie's parents did not put their kids first. Why should he and his family go without. Anybody who does this to another human being is pure evil and will suffer karma for their wrongdoing at some stage.
