Selon une source du Ministère Public (MP) à Lisbonne, Kate et Gerry McCann peuvent être appelés à répondre devant un tribunal portugais pour le crime de négligence, n’étant pas encore confirmée si le couple sera également accusé d’homicide.
Le Ministère Public et les enquêteurs de la Police Judiciaire ont convenu de se rencontrer officiellement dans quelques semaines pour décider quel seront les accusations formulées à l’encontre du couple.
Selon la même source, le secret de justice autour de l’enquête à la disparition de Madeleine va se maintenir jusqu’au mois d’aout, après quoi, passés les vacances judiciaires, le MP serait prêt à avancer vers le procès.

The McCanns will be charged: negligence or murder.

According to a source at the Public Ministry (MP) in Lisbonne, Kate and Gerry McCann may be called to answer for the crime of negligence before a Portuguese court, it not being confirmed as yet if the couple will also be charged with murder. The Public Ministry and the PJ investigators have planned to meet officially in a few weeks time to decide what charges will be made against the couple. According to the same source, the secrecy of justice surrounding the investigation into Madeleine's disappearance is going to be maintained until August, after which, the judiciary's holidays over, the MP will be ready to progress towards the trial.

Après avoir reçu les résultats définitifs des expertises aux vestiges de sang et aux résidus biologiques et synthétiques, les enquêteurs ont vu leur ligne d’investigation confirmée mais le Ministère Public voudrait jouer la prudence car en tribunal, vu les avocats engagés par Kate et Gerry McCann, il va falloir ne pas laisser d’espace pour le moindre doute.

After having received the conclusive results of the forensics on traces of blood and biological and synthetic residues, the investigators saw their line of investigation confirmed, but the Public Ministry would like to be careful because in court, given the lawyers engaged by Kate and Gerry McCann, there must be no room left for the slightest doubt.

Les résultats des examens révèlent une similitude presque parfaite entre le profil génétique du sang retrouvée dans la Renault Scénic loué par les McCann et celui de Madeleine. Les résultats ont été identiques à ceux effectués sur les vestiges de sang retrouvés dans l’appartement de l’Océan Club.

The results of the tests reveal an almost perfect similarity between the genetic profile of the blood found in the Renault Scenic rented by the McCanns and that of Madeleine. The results were identical to those carried out on the traces of blood found in the Ocean Club apartment.

Même si les vestiges étaient en bonne qualité et les résultats n’offrent plus de doute aux enquêteurs, le procédé utilisé pour les analyses -Low Copy Number - est contesté par quelques experts, même si au Royaume-Uni le "Crown Prosecution Service" maintien sa confiance dans le procédé.

4 cambriolages autour de l’affaire McCann

Selon Martin Brunt, l’envoyé de Sky News au Portugal, deux des amis que Kate et de Gerry McCann ont laissé à Praia da Luz, le prêtre anglican Haynes Hubbard et son épouse ont été cambriolés perdant l’ordinateur portable que contenait plusieurs documents en rapport avec le cas Madeleine.

According to Martin Brunt, who was sent to Portugal by Sky News, two friends that Kate and Gerry McCann left behind in Praia da Luz, the Anglican priest Haynes Hubbard and his wife, have been burgled, losing a laptop which held several documents concerned with the Madeleine case.

L’ordinateur contenait les notes sur lesquelles le prêtre se basait pour préparer le sermon pour les cérémonies destinés à signaler le premier anniversaire de la disparition de Madeleine, mais aussi touts les emails personnels et confidentiels échangés avec Kate et Gerry McCann, même après leur départ au Royaume-Uni. Le cambrioleur à également emporté un téléphone portable contenant tous les numéros de téléphone privés, y inclus ceux des parents de Madeleine.

On the computer were the notes on which the priest was basing the preparation of the sermon for the ceremonies planned to mark the first anniversary of Madeleine's disappearance, but also all the personal emails and confidential exchanges with Kate and Gerry McCann, even after their departure for the UK. The burglar also took a mobile phone, containing all the private telephone numbers, including those of Madeleine's parents.

Ce cambriolage n’est pas le premier à des personnes liés, directe ou indirectement, à l’affaire McCann : dans un hôtel de Londres, un journaliste avait vu également son téléphone et son ordinateur portable emportées. Malgré un portefeuille et quelques milliers d’euros sur la table de nuit, le cambrioleur avait préféré emporter l’ordinateur contenant la seule copie filtré vers les médias d’un rapport des services de renseignements traitant de l’affaire Madeleine. This burglary is not the first on people linked, directly or indirectly, to the McCann case: in a London hotel, a journalist had also had his telephone and his laptop taken. In spite of a wallet and a few thousand Euros on the night table, the burglar had preferred to take the laptop containing the only copy leaked to the media of a report by the intelligence services dealing with the Madeleine case. Autre victime de cambriolage, un vacancier d’origine belge résidant en Espagne, à vu son appareil photo, contenant les images prises pendant ses vacances à Praia da Luz, disparaître de chez lui. Le cambrioleur n’avait pas hésité à s’introduire dans la maison pendant la nuit, quand tout le monde dormait à l’étage, et malgré la présence d’objets d’inestimable valeur, l’appareil photo à été la seule victime

Another victim of burglary, a holiday-maker of Belgian origin resident in Spain, saw his camera, containing photos taken during his holiday in Praia da Luz, disappear from his house. The burglar had not hesitated to get himself into the house during the night, when everyone was sleeping on the floor, and in spite of the presence of objects of inestimable value, the camera was the only thing taken.

Plus récemment, au Portugal, l’habitation voisine de celle appartenant à l’inspecteur Gonçalo Amaral à elle aussi été la cible des cambrioleurs. Selon une source de la police locale, le cambrioleur se serait trompé de maison, emportant finalement que des documents.

More recently, the residence neighbouring inspector Gonçalo Amaral's apartment was the target of burglars. According to a local police source, the burglar got the wrong house, in the end taking away only some documents.

So, to sum up the haul from the burglaries:

• Laptop and mobile phone belonging to the priest, containing private phone numbers and confidential communications with Kate and Gerry McCann
• Laptop belonging to a journalist, which held the only copy of a report by the intelligence service about the McCann case, leaked to the media.
• A holiday-maker's camera containing photos of his holiday in Praia da Luz.
  
• A few documents from the home of inspector Gonçalo Amaral's neighbour.
  

Seems that those people are very unlucky, victims of strange coincidences, or maybe we could decide that too many items, linked directly or indirectly to the Madeleine case, seem to be going missing.
